Russell Martin Foundation joins national campaign to keep children safe in sport
This week, the Russell Martin Foundation is proud to stand alongside the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) in support of Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport Week 2025.
The national campaign shines a light on the vital role that parents, carers, coaches, and clubs play in creating positive, supportive environments where children can thrive. Across the country, sports organisations are working together to remind families that keeping young people safe in sport is everyone’s responsibility.
At the Russell Martin Academy, our coaches work with hundreds of young players across Sussex every week. We believe that a great sporting experience goes beyond developing skills on the pitch, it’s about building confidence, respect, and trust. Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and encouraged in every session.
Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing messages and resources from the NSPCC CPSU campaign, highlighting how parents and coaches can “play their part” in safeguarding. We’ll also be celebrating the teamwork and communication that make our academy such a positive space for young people to grow.
Safeguarding is not just a policy at RMF, it’s a daily commitment that underpins everything we do. By working together, we can make sure football remains a safe, welcoming, and inspiring place for every child.
