The RMF Legacy Programme is a six-week course which combines practical and theoretical activities to enable students to interact more positively on the pitch and in the classroom.

Each session is designed to build confidence among the group, providing opportunities for each participant to develop leadership skills, understand and respect their colleagues and teammates, and increase their own self-respect.

Target Audience

‘Confidence, Respect and Attitude’

Secondary school students, college students; particularly those that are performing poorly academically, have behavioural issues or are at risk of exclusion. Group size 12-16 to encourage regular contact time and communication on the pitch and in the classroom.

The RMF Legacy programme sessions last 90 minutes and are split into two 35 minutes and a 20-minute section. The first third encouraging physical activity through a coached inclusive football session, the second third working in groups to tackle a series of leadership tasks and exercises and the final 20 minutes of each session spent drafting a presentation that will be delivered in the final week.

In the final week, each participant will conduct a short (5-10 minute) presentation outlining something they have taken from the course – could be a general overview of what they’ve learned, a particular issue they now understand, or something specific to them and their own development.

RMF Go Sketch is a dynamic, innovative programme delivered in partnership with Future Proof CIC which combines art, design and football to inspire creativity within 8-13 year olds on and off the pitch.

The Go Sketch programme is delivered across 6 weekly 2-hour sessions, the first hour encouraging physical activity through a coached inclusive football session and the second hour consisting of the group designing their Go Sketch character using their Go Sketch workbook.

As part of the programme students are split into two teams:

Each team agrees on a team name
Each team creates a character inspired by their team name (character printed onto Go Sketch t-shirts)
Each team designs a team crest badge (Crest badge is printed onto Go Sketch footballs)

Each RMF Go Sketch programme participant receives a t-shirt and a football which carries their teams design.

The sixth and final Go Sketch session is delivered as a celebratory session with parents and guardians encouraged to attend to view their son’s/daughter’s design work during the Go Sketch Football Festival.
